The Basic Pistol Shooting Course is a two Phased program; Phase 1 is accomplished online through the NRA. Phase 2 is a 5 hour course led by an instructor typically completed in one day. If we cannot complete the classroom and range portion, we are prepared to use the following Sunday as a make up day. We will use local outdoor public ranges for training; so please expect to dress for the weather. Successful completion of this course rewards the student with a Certificate acceptable in many states for Concealed Carry Permit purposes. Range Fees: Prior to range training, and in order to sustain your future training, Alabama Resident students are required to possess a valid Resident Hunting, Wildlife Heritage (cheapest @ $10.85 as of Oct 2015) or Wildlife Management Area License. Non Resident students must possess either a Non Resident Hunting license or Wildlife Management Area license (cheapest @ $17.45). These costs are not included with tuition but will enable you to hone your skills throughout the year at your own pace, and will further support wildlife, hunting and educational programs within Alabama. Licenses are available at local Walmart, Academy, Dick’s, Gander Mountain, etc. Students are expected to bring own eye and ear protection, firearm and at least 100 rounds of ammunition. Instructor firearm and ammunition available for rent at range at additional cost. Registration through the NRA training portal closes the week prior to class. Tuition costs $100, due at start of class. 10% discounts are available for groups taking the training at the same time. We take cash or checks only at this time. Go to www.NRAInstructors.org or call for availability. Lead instructor is Mike@survivalnomad.com (256) 294-1776.
